I now present to you a little video which I fell in digging the subject that really deserves a visit.
It is a speech that demonstrates the power of authenticity. On y voit It shows Mr Rogers Mr Rogers , un créateur de programmes pour enfants, parler devant le Sous-comité des communications du Sénat américain représenté par , A creator of programs for children, speaking before the Subcommittee on Communications of the U.S. Senate represented by John Pastore John Pastore en 1969, un homme réputé difficile à convaincre. in 1969, a man reputed to be difficult to convince.
At the time, President Richard Nixon proposed to lower the financing of public television [Corporation for Public Broadcasting] to 10 million dollars because the cost of the Vietnam War. And the challenge for Mr. Rogers was to persuade the government to keep the $ 20 million originally planned.
The task is hard to judge by the laughter of the audience and obvious impatience of Mr. John Pastore, who does not hesitate to sarcasm. But Mr. Rogers is not the kind of man to be daunted. With its peaceful and quiet style, he slowly exposes his convictions and his audience began to change their behavior.
The committee representative will then show more interest and eventually give him that he had goose bumps. After Mr. Rogers had set the words of the song on his show, John Pastore was conquered and announced that Mr. Roger just won her 20 million dollars!

Génial… Cool ...
I wonder if his manner of speaking, very slow, is natural to study the circumstances, or due to emotion ... Anyway, I think it gives a special dimension to his speech.

Boreal @: I saw another video where he called someone at random by telephone. And it keeps the same tone of voice and speaking slowly as to Mr John Pastore. Apparently, it is therefore remained true to himself!

Ce n'est pas lui qui parle, c'est son coeur. This is not him who speaks, is his heart. This man has completely erased the benefit of his struggle, he put aside his ego small staff to devote himself entirely to a cause that he considers superior to him. Nothing to do with all those fighting for a cause simply for the sake of fighting, being small all-powerful leaders.
When defending in this manner because, when we had cleared, there was never afraid to speak in public, because we do not feel concerned. It is a simple instrument of something higher, it does not allow recognition of his need to manipulate the upcoming speech.
Such people, unfortunately, fairly rare, we know right touch the heart, because deep down we even we are all in admiration for what is nothing other than true love, without any perversion selfish.

Excellent cette vidéo, merci ! This excellent video, thank you!
Most surprising to me is the similarity with the approach of Milton Erickson (videos on the web), famous hypnotherapist of 60 70 years: same tone of voice, pace (slow and strangely jerky to be modeled on the breath of his partner) and the words he uses (invitation to join him in deep personal feelings, constant use of the word and feel that Erickson Appeals nominalizations, I noted some integer expressions Erickson ...) and then there aussibtoute discourse structure.
Finally, whether Rogers was trained in these techniques, either he did it naturally and then I discovered a new spirit of communication, but anyway, hats off to Mr. Rogers and thank you for the video!

Not just his way of speaking that everyone seems to have noted, my expressions of his face seem (or are) true. To test, I played the video 3 times. Once familiar to me, then once without looking (just with sound), then again with the video. The sound is indeed very convincing, her voice and manner of speaking have an effect of incredible contrast with the jeers around. But with the picture, his face, it takes even an entirely different dimension. Ce type rayonne d'authenticite. This type radiates authenticity.
It is astonishing that at no time did he use a different approach (on which I could not help thinking): compare "fund programs for children" in order to make people better or "funding the war in Vietnam" and its morning napalm ...

Il n'est pas simplement empreint d'authenticité, il est complètement bouleversé ce pauvre homme It is not just steeped in authenticity, it is completely overwhelmed this poor man
I think even if he had spoken in a language I did not know I was moved to tears. Sa voix OMG sa voix. OMG his voice his voice.
I quite agree with LeaderPrice, but if it is "calculated" is even stronger.
Thank you for this video, there is much to learn, and as noted sjprm: there are plenty of feel / feelings all along! Aaaah the power of words, someone he has fun counting the number of "Child" / "Children" rocked in 6 minutes?
I love the "stop stop stop" to end hammered with her little fist on the table "pom pom pom" and are even un p'tit coup a "pom pom" behind to mark its rhythm and thrust.
Vraiment MERCI d'avoir déniché cette vidéo. Really THANK YOU unearthed this video.
