Bien sûr dans nos sociétés modernes, nous préférons depuis longtemps privilégier la réconciliation de manière non violente en proposant de réparer le préjudice commis par des peines pécuniaires ou d'emprisonnement. Of course in our modern societies, we prefer to focus on long reconciliation of non-violent way by offering to repair the damage done by financial penalties or imprisonment. L'intérêt étant de préparer l'offenseur à se réintégrer dans la société. The interest is to prepare the offender to reintegrate into society. Cette vision à long terme est en somme une Loi du Talion progressiste , donnant une chance à l'offenseur de se racheter. This long-term is in fact a law of retaliation progressive, giving the offender a chance to redeem himself.
