New Year's Day, new organisor (2/2)
Here thus the continuation of the inventory of the sections of my organisor, of which the first part is already appeared at this address.
After the diary, the wish-lists and the routines, we have:
Section 4: Checklists
The checklists which I use are lists of things to be envisaged or make for a particular event. In his simplest form, one can for example create a checklist to remember businesses to be brought to go to the beach (history not to forget the sun lotion).
But one can also add more details, as what must occur during and after the event. The example more the current being the checklist to organize a meeting, which can be written in the following way:
Before:
- To send an email of recall to the group of the speakers, by specifying the date, the hour, the subject and documents that each one will have to provide
- To check the availability of the projector for the D-day
etc
During:
- To point out the day order
- To make the presentations between the speakers so necessary
etc
- To specify the date of the next meeting
Afterwards:
- To write minutes of the meeting
All this makes it possible to be more relaxed and to be insured against the unforeseen ones for a more professional result. Obviously, the example of the meetings is not very complex, as opposed to what that would give for a marriage or a conference.
As one can see it, the drafting of the checklists is not very different from the routines, one could have put them in the same section in fact. The notable difference being that for the checklist, one speaks about more specific events, therefore less inclined to be included in the category of the practices.
Section 5: Ideas inspiring
In this section, I note all the ideas which challenge me or which correspond to my values. It can be a question of:
- Funny Situations or reflexions: I like to remember these moments of frank fun where everyone is folded of laughing. To note, it is a way for me of studying the humorous process and of inspiring to me to create derivatives. In Madagascar, some strange situations, although dramatic, had thus marked me, among which:
them manhole covers in full road are often catch to be resold with the scrap merchants and ever replaced, of the blow, it happens that the cars fall inside, especially in rain season
it is not rare to see trucks patiently waiting in a narrow street until the rickshaw of front (obviously charged as a mule) arrives all gently at the next intersection
- Quotations: by quotation, I want to say a way of expressing idea in a concise and effective way. Thus these will be not only quotations that one classically finds in the books or the speeches, but also of certain people of my entourage. For example here some euphemisms able to avoid many tensions in the professional world:
Everyone is perhaps not of this opinion - to attenuate the refusal of an assertion of somebody who presents it like an obviousness
It is not a problem, it is a business to be treated. - for ddramatiser the difficulty inherent in a problem
I do not appreciate it - to say: I do not support it
I a little will hustle you - to say: all the specifications of the project on which you work are to be re-examined ![]()
- Mantras (or creed): will mantras are rules of life in agreement with our values which one likes to apply each day. For example, me which am rather go-ahead type, I am rather in agreement with the few following quotations:
If all seems under control, then you do not certainly go rather quickly - Mario Andretti
To avoid coincidences, I create opportunities - Bruce Lee
- Anecdotes and lessons of life: here, I note how certain rules of wisdom apply in the real life. Sometimes they are stories read in books, or many things which arrived to me or which arrived at others.
Thus recently, I read a small booklet on the regard of oneself which quoted the bowling as life size evaluation of the level of regard of oneself of the children. Most trustful could take retreat on a bad shooting and could even laugh at it. While others took it immediately personally and declined the following parts, preferring to be spectators.
Section 6: Dreamstorming
I created this section a little like a exercise of creativity. It is a question of imagining what it would occur in extreme situations. A little like a writer fiction, I describe the good or bad consequences there this new way of seeing the world, and I look in the current society what approaches more this situation. Ca enables me to better include/understand certain current ethical questions.
I approach there for example the futuristic topic of teleportation:
Imagine how one can go anywhere when it is wanted, it would be fantastic! One could go to buy the best produced where they are, to be done one weekend on a paradisiac island or in Pampelune to have fun the festival. But at the same time, the wars would be also much harder to manage As for the nearest current equivalent: that could be private jets well.
Section 7: Ideas of projects
Each one of us from time to time has a small stroke of genius (or believe to have one of them
): moments of inspiration where one with the impression to have discovered quelquechose again, a new product, a new business, etc It is important then of good of to remember so that does not remain only one blow of head. The project will undoubtedly not be mast immediately and will require many refinement and many research on the Internet. But as long as the euphoria of discovered inspires to us, to as much note the ideas which pass to us by the head!
Thus in this part, I precisely note what would be this project, the contents which would be proposed, and the name of the site which would result from this. Sometimes I look at if domain name is available, which words key are referred to it and if there are already competitors. I speak about them also a little goshawks about me. But to be frank, it is rare that I further go (study of the market, creation of a model, etc), especially for lack of time
Section 8: Collections
I make use of this section to gather collections of easy ways around the same topic, glanes progressively of my research on the Internet, or of my experiments in the real life. It is a way of feeding my creativity. Then, when I am at home, I can with the choice structure all that in the form of mental charts (mind maps) or keep the list such as it is.
This brainstorming is used to me rather regularly for the writing as articles.
Section 9: Memorizing
To involve my memory, I consign texts here to be learned how by heart. It can be justifying songs, sketches, stories or assertions. They are often short texts because of the limited size of the pages and not to overload the organisor too much.
Section 10: Objective goals/
To have always with oneself the list of the goals which one has in the life is a good manners to check that each one of our activities is aligned with our long-term priorities. For each goal one will be able to indicate the various means which make it possible to carry it out: activities to be practised and knowledge to be acquired. And according to the context where one saw, one will be able to choose such or such means according to the resources which one has at disposal. Sometimes, certain goals will remain at the dead point: for example if I want to become a champion of surfing, not easy to involve me while living in Nice
. This list will be thus very practical to be called in question and to possibly decide to go to live elsewhere.
Section 11: Address book
At the end of the organisor a traditional address book with an index is alphabetically. I endeavour to more or less regularly synchronize it with my telephone not to be taken with deprived in the event of loss.
Conclusion
Here, you know all in connection with my organisor. Finally, as you can see it, it goes well beyond the traditional functions of organization which one can find in the method Getting Things Done, since it incorporates functions of catch of note, introspection, drive to the creativity and memorizing. Obviously, this structure which functions for me will have to undoubtedly be adapted according to your needs.
Now, you can share your reactions in the comments, and I would be interested of more on your system of organization: Do you use a organisor paper or electronics? Which methodology do you follow? How do your sections arise?
