Books to change life

The books are instruments of choice to carry a new glance on the world. There are those which make travel, those which divert, those which make reflect and those which do all at the same time! Some are so rich of teaching which one has desire for being inspired some, in particular certain books of personal development. These books can lead us to carry out a work on ourself in order to change and live a richer life.

It is on this report that Olivier Roland, author of Zen.fr Practices decided to create new a blog dedicated this time to these famous books. Under the explicit title Of the books to change life , he thus proposes to offer the reviews of his most outstanding readings to us. And Olivier is very motivated since it launched out the challenge of reading 52 of the best books of business in 52 weeks!

The books in question belong to a collection called Personal MBA, which is supposed to contain all the knowledge that one acquires when one studies in order to obtain famous diploma MBA (Master off Business Administration). Then obviously, one can wonder whether the authors of these books are able to replace experienced professors, and especially if all this accumulated knowledge in if little time will not leave in smoke. But Olivier is conscious of these limits and envisaged to apply to the maximum the evoked concepts. Through its personal company, that it has already managed for 8 years, it thus proposes to us to share its experience feedbacks throughout the operation. This ambitious project is thus presented in the form of a major turning in its career.

To also note the english language version of the site: Books that edge changes your life , translates via an offshore oil rig translator engaged by Olivier. Obviously, this version of the site starts to have a certain success since one of the authors of the books of the project, Erika Andersen, located it and benefitted from it to offer a dedicated version of its book!

You will have included/understood it, this site thus did not finish making speak about him. And it will be very invaluable for us to discover good reading tracks.

Good Olivier courage!

To survive a desperate plight

Even L \ 'effigy of the American tickets is under the shock!

Here an article written at the time of the edition of the Festival With Crossed of Blogs of this month. Is the topic How to survive a desperate plight? , inspired of the current financial crisis which makes us plunge slowly but surely in a world economic crisis. You will find soon the summary of all the articles suggested on this topic at Pierre Morsa, thus subscribe you with his blog not to miss it!

He yes, us here in beautiful cloths, the crisis points the end of its nose and already more one in a difficult situation plunges from there. Then should this fate be accepted? Does one need morfondre in the torpor while the storm passes? Initially, let us cease dramatizing: much among us, me including, let us cross one period ostentation. Abundance is always there, but in other forms. For you to persuade and help you to relativize (if need be) I would like to reconsider the concept even of fate.

I believe deeply that fate is an increasingly rare thing nowadays. And to leave there, it is more often a question of knowing to be caught in hand than chance. Science is for much in the improvement of our fate, and it gives a choice increasingly broader in the manner of regulating our daily concern. I recently read a signal of the 10 discovered science which influenced us more these last years, here:

Tsingy de Bemaraha: large Tsingy and the Alley of the Baobab trees

Travel in Tsingy de Bemaraha - 2nd part

Last January, you could discover the first part of the account of my voyage in Tsingy de Bemaraha in the following article: Tsingy de Bemaraha: descent of Tsiribihina. It was thus high time that I publish the continuation, while I already prepare to emigrate in Mauritius.

At the time of the first part, we had stopped at the village of Belo on Tsiribihina, which is the city that one reaches at the end of the descent of the Tsiribihina river.

As one can see it on the chart, we are now very close to Tsingy. The continuation of the voyage consists in joining Bekopaka in 44. It is a small village in edge of the solid mass of Tsingy. One will turn back then to traverse the road of Morondava which is bordered of many baobab trees, especially on a portion of road which one calls the Alley of the Baobab trees. After Morondava, it will be time to join the Antananarivo capital while passing by the town of Antsirabe.

The 4 hours week of Tim Ferriss (2/2)

Buy the 4 hours week on Amazon

We continue our overflight of the book today the 4 hours week of Tim Ferriss.

After having defined which is the New Rich person and started with seriously considering the prospect for a life more exciting, let us continue with the phase of elimination:

To eliminate to concentrate on its most profitable activities

Here, Tim Ferriss states the majority of the means which make it possible to get rid of all the futile one of its working week to concentrate on essence:

  • Report/ratio 80/20 or law of Pareto: according to this law, 80% of our productivity come from 20% of our work. You thus put the following question: How you would save 4/5 of your hours if it were a question of life or death?. This law can be also used to focus itself on the most profitable customers of its company.
  • The law of Parkinson: this law indicates that one is more productive when the expiry is short. Point out you your duties to be returned to the school
  • Selective ignorance: avoid exposing you to too many information. Tim Ferriss never acknowledges for example not to read the newspaper (with share possibly headlines) and to privilege the human contact to collect the essence of the topicality. To see the continuation
